Full meetings of the GAC are usually conducted three times a year in conjunction with an ICANN public meeting. They may also be conducted intersessionally. GAC meetings are usually open. 1. The BGRI will continue its work inter-sessionally, and requests feedback from GAC members on issues raised in the session (BGRI, GAC Members).

Session Minutes:

The BGRI comprises all interested GAC members (currently Switzerland, United Kingdom, Iran, United States and Egypt); and Board members[1] Markus Kummer, Maarten Botterman, Chris Disspain, Ram Mohan (Liaison), Mike Silber and Lousewiese Van der Laan. Co-Chairs Manal Ismail (Egypt) and Markus Kummer convened a session with the GAC to review progress on the agreed work plan. The following issues were raised:

Clarity of GAC advice. Advice should ideally include whether it is based on consensus; a rationale; and what are the intended public policy outcomes.
The now-regular post-Communiqué discussion between the Board and the GAC.

At the GAC’s meeting with the Board, Markus Kummer noted that a new Board process for considering GAC advice will be discussed by the BGRI.
