CBW Evaluation Report
The document has been shared with Working Group Members. The comments received will be shared with the Government Engagement (GE) team for review.
The Working Group agreed that the evaluation report should be shared with the GAC, once the WG Members comments have been incorporated, for its endorsement between the Kobe and Marrakech meetings.
FY20 ABR
WG Members were provided with an update on the FY20 ABR proposal continuation of the GAC Capacity Building Workshop consisting in the development workshop at each ICANN Meeting in fiscal year 2020 (FY20), for ICANN66 Montreal, ICANN 67 Cancún, and ICANN 68 Kuala Lumpur; as well as two multistakeholder Regional Meetings.
The ICANN Board will review and approve all FY20 additional budget requests during the May Board Meeting.
ICANN Learn
WG Members received an update on the ICANN Learn portal and the purpose of this online learning platform made to help GAC WG Members and GAC Newcomers get a better understanding of the role of the GAC and its work, as well as improving their knowledge on the ICANN multistakeholder Community and policy development processes.
The next ICANN Learn courses to be created will be for the pre-ICANN65 Capacity Building Workshop.
Work Plan
The link to the GAC USR WG updated work plan was shared on the call. WG Co-Chairs welcomed the comments made by the WG Members and will take into account all comments made in preparation for the ICANN64 Meeting. Co-Chairs look forward to discuss the Work Plan and endorse it in person in Kobe and ask you to identify where you can engage and support the deliberations of the WG.
Capacity Building Workshop (CBW) at ICANN65 Marrakech
Laurent Ferrali from the ICANN Government Engagement (GE) team provided an update to the GAC regarding the preparations for the next CWB in Marrakech with the help of the Moroccan government and Aziz Hilali, ICANN65 Community member meeting support and member of the Africa Regional At-Large Organization.
In preparation for each workshop, a pre workshop survey is sent to Members of the WG, to guide the topics for the CBW and the agenda of the meeting. The input received is very valuable and helps shape the entire meeting day. [survey sent by email to the WG mailing list]
