Gulten Tepe: Welcome to GAC new website webinar #1 taking place on Wednesday, 3 May 2017 at 05.00 UTC
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 21:52) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve Allison: Good morning/evening everybody

Gulten Tepe: Good morning from Istanbul, Steve
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 21:56) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Olof Nordling: Good morning from Brussels as well
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:03) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Harry Chapman (NZ): Hello everyone

Nadir Ahmed: good morning every one from Sudan

Gulten Tepe: Hello Harry and Nadir, welcome to the Webinar
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:08) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Nadir Ahmed: Thank you
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:13) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve Allison: If there are questions you'd like to ask in chat, I am available to answer those as well if that's easier. Thanks.
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:22) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve Allison: Those links can change over time as the GAC's needs change, so feedback to the GAC Support staff on those is helpful.
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:24) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Harry Chapman (New Zealand): I like the document previews - they look really great

Steve Allison: Thanks Harry. We think it will help GAC distinguish between their official documents and all the other working documents that go into their efforts.
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:27) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve Allison: Throughout the site, there is private content that is displayed ONLY to GAC Members that are logged in. This is different than the previous GAC site that had duplicate pages for members and non-members throughout the site.

Steve Allison: Jeff will show more examples as we go through
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:30) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve Allison: The communique is another example of one of the GAC official document templates.

Steve Allison: The topics have been defined by the GAC TTF and I believe vetted by the rest of the GAC, but this topic taxonomy can/will continue to evolve as GAC's needs change.
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:39) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Olof Nordling: Just to add to Steve's explanation - there is a parallel development of a general advice handling system for the Board, which will thus be connected to the GAC website structure in due course
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:44) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve Allison: Private GAC Agendas are a good way for GAC to build out the agenda and finalize leading up to a meeting before publishing publically
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:47) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Harry Chapman (New Zealand): I have a question for later - if I look at the GAC58 communique both on the new website and the associated PDF it looks different visually to the one circulated at the end of the meeting earlier. Which version is the authoritative one?
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:48) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve Allison: Good question Haary. The PDF styling on the beta site is not yet complete. Before our V1 launch those two PDF should be in sync... regardless of the styling the content of both documents will be identical so that there is no confusion wrt authoritative source.
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:49) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Harry Chapman (New Zealand): Thanks - there's also the question of whether the new website versions (both web display and PDF) match up to the traditional communique sent around at the end of the conference? Or maybe you have addressed this already

Harry Chapman (New Zealand): will the traditional document be superseded by the version on the website perhaps?
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:52) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve Allison: it's a good question we can direct to the secretariat staff. Mostly this was a convience as we had already migrated all the communiques and did not come back around to migrate new content that had been created on the wiki, but it is possible to move that file over if necessary. The only difference would be the styling tho in that event

Harry Chapman (New Zealand): thanks for your answers

Olof Nordling: Such a transition will probably happen at a future stage (TBD), but not immediately

Harry Chapman (New Zealand): thanks Olof

Pua Hunter (Cook Islands): with members of a WG,what information will be published for that member? a link to the member profile or information on the member's contributions to the WG?
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:55) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve Allison: In the near term, for working groups, it is recommended that the secretariats only list the names of members of a working group (the same as currently supported in the wiki). In the future, once Universal Profiles have been created by ICANN (upcoming) we can replace those names with links to the GAC Members profile page.
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:56) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Pua Hunter (Cook Islands): thanks Steve
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 22:58) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Pua Hunter (Cook Islands): I'm still trailing behind. Will the WG pages have a real-time working space for the members?

Steve Allison: Not for Version 1. This is something that we're looking into long term for the entire ICANN community, but that work has not commenced at this time.

Pua Hunter (Cook Islands): actually I think Jeff answered. collaboration tool to be added in future

Steve Allison: What i strongly recommend is that we get some good feedback on the organization of content in working groups and activities
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 23:01) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Pua Hunter (Cook Islands): thank you Steve
------------------------------------------------------------------- (05/02/2017 23:03) -------------------------------------------------------------------
Harry Chapman (New Zealand): I have to leave now sorry. Thanks also from me for setting up this new website -- it looks great, and I look forward to using it and exploring its functionality in the near future

Gulten Tepe: thank you very much for your participation Harry

Steve Allison: Thank you Harry

Pua Hunter (Cook Islands): Cheers Harry
